Due to the sudden rise in cases of the coronavirus. Many big industries are suffering losses. At the same time, International students who went to the USA for earning and learning are stuck with only learning options. Many eligible students got their CPT suspended due to this. I am still amazed by what a small virus can do to industries that were standing for more than 200 years.

The rise in unemployment is also so shocking. Employees who have worked for a single company for more than 12 years are being let out. People who are experienced and are experts in their respective fields are also unemployed. International students who have spent their parent’s whole life’s earnings with a dream that they will work in the USA and send the money they earned back to their parents. Students are also allowed to stay on campus. The student with a home country that has a higher threat or travel ban is asked to stay on the campus. Most of the companies are working remotely, so if you are on a CPT or OPT ask your employer to let you work remotely as well. colleges and universities all around the USA have a helpline number just for Chinese international students. Students are having a support system that they can rely on.

Some Useful tips to pass through this tough time with flying colors.

1. Ask around in the companies that provide work from home in your field.
2. Look for work from home jobs in your field even if it is an indifferent branch
3. If you want to look at OPT jobs visit them.
4. Stay calm and assertive. The world is not going to end. This is a phase and it shall pass too
5. Look for small pay rates jobs if you are still studying.
